This War Memorial can be found on Front Street, Cleadon Village as you enter from either South Shields, Sunderland or Whitburn.

Originally, created in the 1920s, it was updated in the 1950s to remember those who fought in the 'Great War' or World War I and World War II.

This memorial commemorates the residents of Cleadon who were killed or missing and includes the First World War (14 names, 107 returned) and the Second World War (32 names).
